i have replaced cv-axle and wheel bearings

i have a 98 toyota rav4 that is making a popping/knocking noise only while braking. i have replaced the cv-axle and wheel bearings and i still get the same noise. what would you recommend?

Have you checked for a cracked rotor? Does this vehicle have rear disc brakes? If so, check to make sure the park brake shoes are not damaged.

no crack on rotor. has rear drum brakes. would worn out guide pins cause this?

The could... Check to make sure the springs are good on the rear brakes too
