Steering is very hard but when warm a little, then become a little difference. There is no leak anywhere and the steering oil is correct to its level.

If the power assist is easier in one direction than the other, there is internal leakage inside the rack and pinion steering gear. That almost always clears up, at least partially at first, when the fluid warms up.

If the power assist improves a lot when you raise engine speed, it is most likely due to a worn pump.
