All 4 of my aftermarket door speakers have been working for about a year now on my '98 Outback/Legacy, and yesterday all of a sudden i was driving and they all started to make a static noise as if i turned on the radio to a bad station or something. I've done everything i could think of; took all 4 door panels off, checked the wiring on all of the speakers, checked the wires plugged into my receiver, checked my battery, messed with the settings on my deck and nothing seems to work. I can turn my stereo up to a certain volume but if i go any higher, it's just static. Any ideas?

internal failure in the finals in the radio. you need either a new radio or a repair from a radio shop.
