Saab9-3 1998. Idle revs slowly build from 1000 to 2000 within 10 seconds of starting cold. When warm it is staying at 2000. New idle control valve and I have cleaned plugs and changed oil. Any ideas where else I can look?

You have any computer trouble codes?I would also look to make sure the throttle body plate is closing fully and clean not carboned up.Also i would check for a vacuum leak.

Hi
There is no computer codes at all. I have today cleaned the throttle plate and house as there was a lot of build up, I have also checked all air inlets and outports and having no joy. Think it's time I took it to a garage?

Thats up to you if you want to take it to a garage. The best way to check for vacuum leaks is to get some carb spray and spray around the intake gasket all the vacuum hoses and the connections anywhere vacuum travels or is present. If the rpms go up down or the engine stumbles or dies while your spraying you found your leak.
