automatic is slow in finding first from park

Hi, I have a 98 Renault Megane 1,600cc Petrol the auto is slow in finding first from park when slips slightly in first but only when cold, would a oil and filter change sort this?

Make sure the trans fluid is clean and full. A service may help. However, it could have something to do with the valve body in the transmission.
