1998 TRANS AM LS1 5.7. WHEN I FLOOR IT THE THROTLE SEEMS TO STICK. NOT THE PEDAL BECAUSE WHEN I TAP THE PEDAL IT IS NO STOCK TO THE FLOOR. TAPPING, MOST OF THE TIME, BRINGS THE IDLE DOWN. WHEN IN NEUTRAL AND I FLOOR IT IT DOES NOT STICK. I HAVE CHECKED THE THROTLE BODY INKAGES AND I HAVE CLEANED AND LUBED THEM BUT IT STILL DOES IT. NOT EVERYTIME, BUT ANY TIME IS TO MUCH. PLEASE HELP ME.

What about the throttle cable itself? Did you lube or replace it? And what about other cables attached to throttle linkage like cruise?

I HAVE NOT REPLACED ANYTHING, I TRIED TO CLEAN CABLES WITH WD40 AND TRIED TO SPRAY SOME IN THE CABLE HOUSING WITH OUT REMOVING FROM LINKAGES. A FUNNY THING AFTER DOING SO MY CRUISE CONTROL STARTED TO MALFUNCTION.

Can you get it to stick with car not running? And what about disconnecting cruise to see if that helps? Is there also a downshift cable attached to the throttle?
