I have a grinding noise coming from the driver side engine bay. It just had a driver side cv axle changed, I didn't do it. Manual tranny, gt model. The noise only happens on deceleration, when I'm on the gas the noise completely goes away. It sounds like something like metal scrapin. I checked the cv axle installation, looks all good. Checked tranny fluid, all is good. Any ideas would help, this might be easy for a mechanic to answer seeing that it only happens on decelerating, but I have never encountered this. Thanks!

Have the people that put the axle in look it over again. They may have bent the brake backing plate slightly causing the rotor to rub on it occasionally. They could have also left the axle nut loose which will damage the bearing.
