Please help! Can not get car registered because it failed emissions. The inspection report shows everything as *pass, except for the following... OBD readiness monitor status: *unavailable, did not communicate, OBD connector integrity: *Fail, Malfunction indicator light (mil) status / No Voltage: *Fail. Under the diagnostic trouble code report area it states the following: Your vehicle reported no voltage at the data link connector (computer connection).

The check engine light was on but it isn't anymore. We replaced the cigarette lighter fuse already, took the car back to emissions after replacing the cigarette lighter fuse and it still failed.

I get nothing back on my volt/multimeter when I check the orange wire. What steps do I take now or what should I do next? Or is this a sufficient amount of information that can exactly tell one of you car pro's out there what exactly the problem is and can tell me what to do? Please advise. Please..Thank YOU!

Now you have to find the open wire from the orange wire at the obd2 connector back to the underhood fuse box. I would look under the dash for a broken damaged wire.

After going back checking all the wires and fuses a second time- I ended up noticing that there was no fuse in the slot for the horn. (Some how the individual who had checked the fuses the 1st time around had over looked it) So we took the fuse for the cigarette lighter out, put it in the horn slot, and presto! Had voltage! Went right to emissions and passed the test, even without replacing the fuse that gives power to the cig. lighter.

I wanted to extend my graduated to you Saturntech9 for taking all the time out just to assist me in resolving my issue, following up with me all along the way! It is people like yourself that make a difference in this world just by doing what we should all be doing for each other, giving help when and where help is needed! My warmest regards to you and your family!
