1998 Pontiac Sunfire Clutch Floor Sticks Put First Gear Crank Lunges Forward

My clutch goes to the floor and sticks but if I put it in first gear then crank it lunges forward but wont start. Is it a hydraulic leak that may have lost fluid or a clutch replacement I need?
