Can I purchase a transmission also?

I have a 1998 pontiac grand prix I recently installed a 2004 pontiac 3.8 engine. I need to know can I purchase a 2004 transmission also.

No, you better have put all the older style switches in teh newere engine as your copmputer may not hoook up to the new switches/sensors.

Okay but the engine works great I'm trying to find out can I put the 2004 transmission in also?

The answer is still no lke th first answer because all of the elcectrical connections are different thatn the 98 trans. There may be other switches int eh newer trans that aren't in the old one or vice versa.
