Should I be concerned if I have a black guck around the underside of my radiator cap. I do have overheating problems every once in a while when in traffic. So when I'm not moving and driving in the city my engine temp gets a little high.

If the vehicle overheats when you are stopped in traffic, make sure the radiator fans are turning on. As far as the gunk, I would recommend flushing the system. Also, make sure there is no oil mixing with the coolant as well as coolant mixing with the engine oil.
