I just need to know what this round metallic pump looking thing is that is inserted into the front of the block and has really small white hoses that are plugged into that branch off 2 ways and one goes to the top of the block right to the left of the throttle body onto something that looks like a distributor almost. I just need to know what it is and what it does and if it would make my car jolt every now and then while driving.

If you are talking about the black and white roundthing it is a one way valve for a vacuum line and no it own't make your car jolt. Scan for codes and check fuelpressure with a gauge first. Autoparts rent it.

Well you should really scan for codes and check fuelpresure first autoparts rent the gauge. Also try cleaning your throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner and check for a vacuum leak as well.
