Car hard to move.

I have a 1998 Plymouth Voyager, 3.3 engine and 198,000 miles on it. I replaced my driver's side cv transaxle, because it broke in two. In order to do this I had to remove the caliper and brake hose amongst other things. After reinstalling everything, in order to move the car I really have to hit the gas. The wheel just seems to spin. It seems to me that the brakes are locked. It has the ABS system Can you please help me to fix the problem.

The driver's side front. It is the same side that I installed the new cv transaxle on.

what exactly do you mean by spins? slips on road surface?

have you tried jacking up each wheel and putting in neutral with motor off and try spinning tire with hands?

No. What am I suppose to look for? Do you think that the cv transaxle, that I replaced might not be in far enough? I thought that I did bang it in with a hammer.

your going to find out if any of the wheels are locked for some reason. if the axle was not in right, that wheel/tire would not turn with engine on.

I will try it tomorrow. We here in Pa. are under a tornado watch, with 3 inch hail. Just one more thing. Do I do all 4 wheels on jacks and try to spin them one at a time, or just the 2 front ones?

I took off one caliper at a time both wheels did not turn at the same time. When I took off both calipers both wheels turned. I pressed the brakes with the calipers off. the brakes kept getting closer to each other. They never went back. Does that still mean that it is both calipers or something else? I want to get new calipers right away, but don't want to remove brake hose until I know for sure? Thanks for all your help!!!!

do calipers go back in the same? or is 1 hard to push in? i would have just jacked up i wheel at a time an tried to spin with hands to see if it's tight. a bad brake hose or sticky caliper can cause grab on rotor.
