1998 neon DOHC making a high pitch whistle not present when engine is cold but trips at about 2 minutes after engine is running, suspecting a maybe a fan clutch but check engine code indicated a misfire in cyl's 1 and 3 ??? seems to be unrelated?

The vehicle has electric fans, so there is no fan clutch. Check for vacuum leaks. They have the small plastic vacuum hoses that crack often. As far as the misfire, a vacuum leak could be tied into that.
