family car being turned into a mudder

I want to lift my oldsmobile 88 (1998 is the year model) but i can't find any liftkits, obviously based on the type of car, and i cant get anything bigger than 16 inch mud tires on it. can i just buy longer shocks, coils, and all that? or do i have to have something fancy done to it?

To get a lot of lift out of a car, the body needs to be mounted on a truck frame.
Depending on the vehicle, you may find it easier to choose another car to make into a mudder.
