car wont start security light flashing

I have a 1998 oldsmobile 88 the lock cylinder went bad I replaced it but still no start... Do I need 2 get a new key made with a chip or is there something else I can do

So the new cylinder came with keys correct?After replacing the cylinder did you do a pass lock relearn?

Yes it came with a key but the key doesn't have a chip... And how do I do the relearn step

Lets start with you having a key made with the same cut as the new cylinder with a chip and use your old key with the chip to get the correct resistance value and go from there.A lot of hardware stores even can do that these days let me know when you do that.
