I have a 1998 nissan frontier 4x4 2.5L. I hooked up a san tool and it read code P0180. what does this mean.

At the fuel tank sending unit connector locate Yellow/Black wire. Key on engine off, check this circuit; disconnected there should be 5 volts on the harness side. Connected and back probing the Yellow/Black wire the voltage should be 3.5 at 68 °F and the voltage should decrease and the fuel temperature increases.
If the 5 volt reference isn't present, check the Yellow/Black wire in connector M67 (18 pin connector at the bottom of right kick panel.



Most common cause is a broken or corroded wire between the kick panel and the sending unit.
