When I drive my car stays at 2 RPM even when I hit the gas and then finally speeds up normally what is wrong?

I drive and hit the gas but car goes up to 2 rpm and idles there until it finally kicks in and speeds up normally what is wrong

Check for vacuum leaks, check IAC, check throttle position sensor. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will do it for free. Also, check fuel pump pressure.
