Hello
My name is David I recently called for price quotes on a clutch R&R they asked me what the tenth letter in the V.I.N. Is ( Y or F ) as I do understand it tells you what specifics of the vehicle is but I don't understand, why if the tenth letter is a "Y" it costs allot more then if the letter was a "F". Does anybody know what the difference in the vehicles may be.

That letter may stand for the plant where the vehicle was built or an optional package on it. Often different plants get parts from different suppliers, and the parts store needs to know which supplier was used so they can get the matching parts.
