trouble code po705 trans-axle range sensor

Hello i have a 98 Mitsubishi eclipse spyder 2.0 turbo i just had a guy rebuild transmission and it runs bad i am getting trouble code po705 its a trans-axle range sensor i think do you know what this is and can you explain it to me so i can try to fix it and clear the codes?

It also dies out in reverse and makes a clunk when put in drive and when i am at 0-25 miles per hr it drives like crap after 25 it drives good did this guy damage my car worse i need some help please
