fuel filter location?

Where is fuel filter located on my Mercury Tracer?

My info says it is located in rear of engine compartment, mounted in bracket clamp.

Just wanted to add, don't take any fuel lines loose unless your sure there is no pressure on the fuel system.

You probably need a special tool like below to remove it

Engine Performance problem
1997 Mercury Tracer 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

need to know how to replace fuel filter. the car has a misfire in #4 cylinder i have replace the coil pack plug wires and now im going to replace the fuel filter what else could it be if its not the fuel filter

test the systems before replacing parts, will save a lot of money this way. test the fuel pressure. if OK check vacuum system for leaks. check PCV system for proper operation. many things to test for a misfire code so its very very difficult to guess at a part and replace it to fix the problem. and the fuel filter is not going to cause a misfire in only one cylinder
