Look down along the side of the battery, there is a locking block, remove it with a 10mm with an extension long enough to reach it.

Look around the base of the battery, Mercury uses a bottom mount battery, one side will be the tray and the other side will be the hold down, usually a wedge shaped thing with a bolt holding it down.
