1998 Mercury Sable Wagon High Mount Brake Light Will Work Replaced Bulbs Still

I have a Sable wagon. The high mount brake light will not work. I replaced the bulbs but it still does not work. How do I fix this. I took it apart and the wiring connections look good so where do I go from here. The lower brakes work it is just the high mount brake light that will not work. Is it on a fuse by it's self?

no, take a test light or voltmeter and see if you have voltage to the connector when the brake lights are on
