Electronic Compass Display

Why does the Electronic Compass/Temperature Display light fade, then come back bright, then sometimes goes out completely?

Sounds like the unit is having a problem with the LCD display. It will probably need a new unit.

Not the answer I wanted but I rather thought so. Also thought it could be a loose wire or the LCD was loose. Thanks!
