Brake switch good fuse good power to rear good if bulbs are unpluged how would i narrow the problem to the socket if a socket is to blame i get 12v until i plug a bulb in then it drops to zero any advice would be great

Would be looking at a wring globe as in the pins are incorrect or no earth ant the light socket, check these.
