HOW DO i KNOW IF HEATER CORE IS OK ON 1998 lINCOLN TOWN CAR

Hi

I purchase this car a few years ago in Florida,as it is hot most of the time here I did not try heater before buying,AC is ok when I did not get heat I took car to garage and thet found that hoses were disconnected from heater core and hoses were reposition to bypass core.

my question is,how do I know if heater core is ok or is there is another problem why they disconnected hoses, could you please advise me whay you think.

if they disconnected the hoses there is a good chance that the heater core leaks. you cna hook it up and get iantifreeze in your car and it will smell a littleor have a mechanic fill with water and pressure test the core to see if it leaks or not. if it doesn' t leak then rehook the hoses up.
