Engine starts and runs find. When place in any gear, engine dies. It will immediately restart but dies again when placed in any gear.

What is the idling speed? Does it stall if slight pressure is applied to gas pedal to increase the idling speed? Is the Check Engine Light indicating? Was anything done prior to this occurring? Was transmission shifting correctly prior to this occurring?

Idle is fine. Stalls in standing position when starting cold and shifting into any gear. Never get to the gas pedal from brake pedal. 'Check Transmission' warning came on shortly before arriving home the night before.

You need to get a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes. Since the Check Transmission indicator came on, it could be a fault with the transmission.
