1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee wheel shaking

Hello, my 98 jeep grandcherokee makes a clunking/grinding noise when turning and now it does it all the time. Today after making a turn the steering wheel started to loose control and shake as if the wheels were going to come off, could that be a tie rod issue?

Not likely. They could be worn, but the first suspect for that shimmy is the steering damper. There's so many things to check that your best bet is to have the steering and suspension systems inspected at a tire and alignment shop.
