1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Recently Power Washed Side Engine Compartment Motor

I recently power washed the side of my engine compartment(not the motor) and after i did it the check engine light came on and my jeep starts in third and will not go into over drive

you may have got the tcm wet. hopefully it will dry out and return to normal. otherwise, have it checked for failure and replacement
