engine surging

it seems like it surges more when im driving on freeway, climing a hill.It started spitting and spuddering, almost like lunging forward at times.
Then would quit for awhile and cleared up after we got on straight road.

If the check engine light came on, have the computer scanned. Also, I recommend having the fuel pump pressure checked. It could be a few different sensors, but the check engine light should have been set if that was the case. Like I mentioned, have the computer scanned if the light came on. Most parts stores will do it for free. If no light, then I would move to the fuel system. For DIY directions, visit our home page.
