If the light is on, the system is not working. It could be the result of a bad sensor, wiring issue... What you need to do is have the computer scanned to determine where the problem is coming from. Many parts stores will do it for free.

However, most parts stores won't have a scanner capable of reading these codes. So if the parts store tells you they can't find a code, take it to a shop that has the right kind of scanner.
