Gear selector not releasing when brake pedal is depressed. What items can I check and where are they located. The Problem started first with a instrument panel message saying boot open, when it was closed.I could then only open the boot with the key. After opening and closing the boot a few times the message whet off and the electric release began working again. However when I got back in the car to drive away my gear selector would not release and the fold in mirrors have stopped working. When I press the brake pedal or try to operate folding mirrors there is a constant relay click from front passenger foot well. What can I do.

check fuse 5 & 7 on lh heelboard for shift interlock, then go under car with brake applied and key on and see if shift interlock solenoid is getting power -org/grn wire. if no power have it scanned to see if body module is ok.
