Hi I need to change the thermostat housing on a 1998 jaguar vanden plas xj8, and need to know if you have instructions on how to do it. Thanks

Drain the cooling system. Retain a coolant drain tray in position to catch any spillage when removing the thermostat cover.
Loosen and reposition the lower hose clamp. Remove the lower hose from the thermostat cover.
Remove the 3 thermostat cover bolts and remove the thermostat cover from the housing. .
Install the new housing.

On the web you can find companies which sell good metal housings which don't give as much trouble.
