I have a 98 Isuzu Trooper and I need the back pads and rotors replaced? How much does that usually cost?

DEPENDS ON THE SHOP YOU HAVE DO IT

THEY "GRADE" PADS YOU/ THEY USE

SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR INEXPENSIVE?

ALRIGHTY THEN

THIS MAY HELP. IF YOU'LL TRY

AND WILL REQUIRE SOME CALLING AROUND AND MAYBE FINDING OUT A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE PLACES I'M ABOUT TO SEND YOU. FRIENDS MAY HELP ALSO

YOU KNOW YOUR AREA A LOT BETTER THAN US, BUT THIS WILL WORK IN ANY AREA.

TALKING TO SOME OF YOUR PALS MAY NARROW DOWN THE PLACES YOU CALL FOR INFO

HERE'S THE DEAL, IF YOU KNOW SOME OF THESE PLACES YOU MAY ALREADY BE TRACKING RIGHT

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SMALL OPERATION---MA AND POP TYPE AUTO SALVAGE YARD----ONE THAT PROBABLY KNOWS AND TALKS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS----IF POSSIBLE THE "SELF SERVICE" KIND

THE BIG PLACES USUALLY DON'T HAVE THE RELATIONSHIP THAT A SMALLER ONE DOES WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS. MAY BE NOT ALL ARE THAT WAY

THE SMALLER GUYS KNOW WHO IS A "RIPOFF" AND ALSO WHO DOES "GOOD HONEST" WORK. THEY SELL "USED PARTS" TO ALL OF THESE GUYS DAILY (I'M NOT SAYING THAT'S WHAT YOU WILL GET FOR YOUR REPAIR)

I'M GONNA ARM YOU WITH YOUR STORY---THE IDEA HERE IS NOT TO GET THE CHEAPEST FELLER---OR THE MOST EXPENSIVE

DO NOT DIVULGE ANY PREVIOUS "ESTIMATES" OR WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN ALREADY

THIS IS YOU BASIC "TELEPROMPTER". MAKE IT WORK YOUR WAY

"HELLO MR. AUTO SALVAGE GUY, THIS IS BRAKE FELLER, I NEED TO FIND ME A GOOD HONEST MECHANIC, THAT'S NOT GONNA ASK FOR ARM AND A LEG TO LOOK AT, DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR MY VEHICLE

THE REASON I CALLED YOU, IS I SORTA FIGURE SINCE YOU ARE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR INDUSTRY, MANY SMALLER SHOPS USE YOUR PRODUCT. YOU JUST MIGHT KNOW THE RIGHT GUY TO SEND ME TO. TO MAYBE GIVE YOU A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT I'M AFTER, MY CAR IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION, I WANT IT TO LAST A GOOD WHILE LONGER. IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO DO REPAIRS YOURSELF, WHO WOULD YOU SEND YOUR M. OTHER TO, IF IT CAME DOWN TO THAT?

BE PREPARED TO WRITE NAMES AND NUMBERS---CALL SEVERAL OTHER PLACES---LISTEN FOR NAMES THE OTHER GUY MENTIONED, WHEN HE'S DONE, MAYBE MENTION THE NAMES THAT WERE NOT PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED. IN OTHER WORDS, AS YOU OBTAIN NAMES, YOU MAY GET A "WONDERFUL RECOMMENDATION" OF A GOOD SHOP OVER AND OVER!---OR YOU MIGHT GET THE "DIRT" THAT THE OTHER GUYS FAILED TO MENTION

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, AS YOU TALK TO THESE GUYS----MAKE SURE THE SHOP RECOMMENDED GETS HIS WORK OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER, DON'T WANNA WAIT SIX MONTHS FOR A FIX

HERE'S YOUR LIST---LOOKS LIKE IT MAY INVOLVE OTHER STATES---LOOK IN YOUR YELLOW PAGES FOR AUTO SALVAGE YARDS--USED CAR PARTS --ETC

ANOTHER GREAT SOURCE IS TO TALK TO THE "COMMERCIAL SALES MANAGER" AT YOUR LOCAL POPULAR AUTO PARTS STORES (NOT THE OTHER EMPLOYEES) THESE GUYS TAKE ORDERS/DELIVER PARTS TO ALL OF THE LOCAL AUTO SHOPS---THEY MAY SLING OUT SOME NAMES OF DECENT, GOOD SHOPS----THEY TOO, KNOW WHO'S "NAUGHTY AND NICE"

GOOD LUCK. THIS DOES WORK DOWN HERE IN SC! EVEN FINDING THE BEST ENGINE MAN---BEST A/C MAN---BEST TRANSMISSION MAN---ETC

KEEP US POSTED (ON THIS POST) AS TO HOW THINGS ARE WORKING OUT, WE'RE WATCHIN' FOR YOU
