1998 Q45 with 205K miles. runs great but gas peddle sticks when at a stop light and when you push on it, it "breaks" loose and car lunges forward. Some one told me it was the throttle position sensor. What is your opinion??

Clean out the throttle plate and inspect if the accelerator cable is kinked-

I will first make sure that your floor mat is in position and not pushing against the pedal, second of all I would take some WD-40 and spray on your cable and the throttle body make sure it is lubricated.
