my sonata has the temp guage reaching just under halfway.the radiator was full of rusty water. i took out the thermostat that was rusty with a melted seal. usually do this with most of my cars dont really like to keep the thermo in. anyway i drained out the radiator untill clear water water come through. also the block, did it with a hose. after doing this i filled it with coolant. the next day i opened the cap and still had thick blobs of rust in the water. also i dont think the fans are working. what could be the problem?

first off, you must have a thermostat. it is critical to the even temp of the motor.

you need a radiator shop to power flush it with acid to get all the rust out.

then you must maintain the system and change the coolant on a timely basis.

get the cooling system correct first. the sensor may be getting false readings from the rust, once it is clean it all may come back on line
