My car transmission sometimes changes from 1st to 2nd but sometimes stays on 2nd or stays on 3rd, but also sometimes revs out until it changes gears. What could be the problem?

Check trans fluid for full then have a trans guy scan for codes.

Hi, thanks for that! The trans fluid did show that has too much. Could that be the problem? And what do u mean by scan codes

Trans fluid should be checked with it hot and on level ground normally a little bit won't hurt you have to scan for codes because the transmission is controlled by computer so you have to see what is wrong with it as a scanner will pull up certain codes to if there is some type of poor connection/ electrical issue inside trans. Best to have atrans guy do this though.
