1998 Honda Civic transmission

Ok the problem im having is this : start the car up put it in R and then pull it down in drive and start to go and then it jumps and stop going put it in differnet drives still wont go. Put it back in park turn the car off and then wait about a min or 2. Start it back up put it down in drive it start to go again and then does the same thing again. Can you help

The starting of the engine is not directly related to the transmission apart from the range switch that will only allow you to start in N and P. Sounds as if there is a serious problem with in the transmission, this will have to be checked first hand with a specialized test equipment, if it will not drive it will have to be towed to a work shop for further investigation, just ensure that the transmission oil is full and not burnt, there is not a lot you can do at home with this problem.

Im saying u can start the car up put in in drive it will go and like it jump out of gear and wont go no where and when u kill the car and start it up again put it in drive it go and like it jump out of gear and wont go again

Check that the engine mounts are ok and that he selector cable is ok and is selecting gears, if these are ok, the problem will be in the transmission.
