I just replaced my timing belt and head gasket and now the car does not want to accelerate past 20 MPH. The RPMs jump to 3,000 and the engine sounds like it is laboring. Does that seem like the timing is off?

Had the old belt failed before you installed this one?

Have you rechecked timing marks on cam/crank? Valves adjusted Intake.007-.009in. Exhaust.009-.011 in? Everything hooked up no vacuum leaks?
