where is the OBDII scan port located

got honda civic 1.5i ls vtec 1998, engine management light came on but mechanic cant find the socket to plug the code detector machine. I had changed the o2 senser and found engine running better but engine management light is still on any help please please

There is a removable cover on the right hand side of the centre console, i think that it is under there.

Refer to diagram. If the DLC is not found, you would need to use the SCS to manually retrieve the trouble code by means of blinking of the MIL. The link below shows how to go about.
