1998 Honda Accord. AC fully charged, no leaks, works great for 10 minutes every time I start it cold, then stops. Is there a part in dashboard that can cause this problem? What should it cost to repair?

Could be freezing up due to air and moisture forming into ice and blocking off the orifice tube-try having it vacuumed out-

The compressor does stay engaged. Local garage, who I trust - but may not know, says to bring it in to hook up to pressure gages and let it run until it stops cooling. He says that will let him know what part to replace - controller or compressor. Either part would cost upwards of $1000. Is this worth testing? He should know about the expansion valve the blocking of the orifice tube - correct?
