I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy Slt and the heat/ac doesn't work on any speeds. Checked the fuses and they are fine, the climate control box on the inside has some display lights that come on, but only half of the ones show. The blower motor only works when it gets direct power from the battery. What could it be?

Check the relay and check to see if there is power to the switch.
