Replacing rear brakes and rotors. Do you know what the shoe slide in piece is for? Can't get it to stay in. Can I put the shoes in without using this piece? Do you have a diagram of how this fits together?

Rotors are part of disc brakes. Shoes are part of drum brakes. Which one do you have? Can you post a photo of the assembly? Do you have both sides apart already or did you leave one side together to look at?
