My car keeps stopping on me every few months, and mechanics keep saying it's the alternator, so I've gotten at least 3 new alternators within the last year, and the car battery has died on me again! and the battery isn't bad cause I had it checked!

Use a digital multimeter across the battery posts, everything off, the generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. Take second reading with vehicle running, the second reading should be higher than the first, if the charging system is working. The charging system needs to be tested on the vehicle. Another possibility is excessive battery drain, everything turned off?
