1998 Ford Falcon M Brake Lights Will Work Press Replaced Bulbs Else

M brake lights will not work when I press the brake and I have replaced the bulbs what else can the problem be

STOP LAMP SWITCH
Replace
The switch is located under the dash on the brake pedal mounting bracket.
1. Disconnect the wiring connector at the switch.
2. Remove brake pedal pivot bolt retaining clip.
3. Remove switch from pivot shaft, and install new switch assembly.
4. Install retaining clip to pivot shaft.
5. Reconnect the wiring connector.
6. Test stop light operation.
I also noticed on our car (AU series 3) that the cruise control would not engage.
