u kno wt could b wrong with my escort it will only go in first gear and reverse when i give it gas the rpm goes up but no acceleration wont gon in no gear so cant go but 8 miles an hour wondering if u had any suggestions for me thanks

My suggestion is to have an expert inspect the vehicle, from here it could be most anything from low fluid in the transmission to an internal issue in the transmission.
