I was having problems with my cars speedometer and the transmission not going past 1st gear so after receiving advice on replacing the vehicle speed sensor I went under the car to check it out and found the cable that comes out of the speed sensor unplugged. It's the speedometer drive cable and I tried to see where it goes to but I cant find any other cables or plugs for the cable to go into. Any ideas on where the speedometer drive cable goes to?

It is possible that it's not supposed to be plugged into anything. Loose plugs are not uncommon at all. Many of them are for options that car is not equipped with.

I looked on the Haynes repair manual for the car and it said that the cable was the speedometer drive cable, sadly the repair manual didn't say where it is supposed to be plugged in.

If it actually has a speed sensor, it will be right there on the transaxle, near the output.
