The right rear disc brake's inner brake pad broke apart...... can a disc brake on the car temporarily still work with only one brake pad?

You will cause rotor damage ,piston of the caliper will extend out further with the possibility of the seal leaking brake fluid and also get damaged , not to mention may cause bodily damage to you and others if driving with only one brake pad.
