Dear sirs, I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 150,000 miles. When I let off the gas, as coming to a stop sign, turning a corner etc. It stalls out, I can put it in nuetral and restart, put it in drive and keep going. Was just doing this once in a while, but now its all the time, if it stalls while cold it wont start back up for a hour or so. Please help. Dave

If the battery was recently disconnected or run dead, the Engine Computer has to relearn "minimum throttle" before it will know when to be in control of idle speed. Usually you will also not get the nice idle flare-up to 1500 rpm at engine start-up. You may have to hold the gas pedal down 1/4" when starting the engine to keep it running.

To meet the conditions for the relearn to take place, drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the brake or gas pedals.
