I have a 1998 Dodge Neon 2.0L SFI DOHC 4cyl. When driving over 35 mph the car shakes or sputters. The rpms drop sharply and then go back normal. Its like the care is having a seizure. The shaking and sputtering are random, it does not seem to be on shifts. Sometimes it very light and other times its very violent. I have replaced the following items.

* Spark plugs and wires
*Oil Change and topped off all fluids
* Trans Filter and gasket changed
* Fuel/Ignition cleaner ran, along with high test gas

Please help I am at my wits end. Its our only car and can not fail.

Could be one of the following below -check and test:

Oxygen sensors.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
